Jana directs the study abroad program in Salamanca, Spain for Augusta State University and for the University System of Georgia. This program, which has developed from a six-week program to a year-round study abroad opportunity, includes a special teachers program sponsored in conjunction with the ASU College of Education. 

Highlight Activities

Professional Presentations: Since 1983, Jana has presented over 70 papers and 100 lectures at the local, state, regional and national levels. 

Committees: Jana has served on dozens of committees including the Teacher Education Council, the Board of Regents’ Academic Committee of Foreign Languages and the International Affairs Committee

Publishing: Jana has been published numerous times in national journals (e.g., Hispania), her state’s journal (Journal of the Foreign language Association of Georgia), as well as in Dimension.     

Highlight Awards:

Outstanding Teacher Award, Augusta State University (2005-2006); Senior Faculty Award for Internationalization, GA Consortium for International Studies (2006); FLAG Leadership in Foreign Languages Award (2005); AATSP National Professor of the Year (1999); AATSP-GA Professor of the Year (1998)
