Have you and your staff done an exceptional job promoting international education by either training educators, teaching international students or engaging students to become more involved in their community? IALLT 2009-Language Learning GPS: Navigating the World of Technology
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Georgia State University is pleased to host the 2009 conference for the International Association for Language Learning Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, May 26-30, 2009.

 

Just published - UNESCO publishes compendium on languages and multilingualism.

June 2007 - Following a worldwide consultation, UNESCO has published an online compendium of its ongoing activities in the field of languages and multilingualism. The compendium was compiled by the Task Force for languages and multilingualism.

UNESCO’s current action focuses on the following objectives:

  • Promotion of multilingual education, including the mother language
  • Safeguarding endangered and indigenous languages
  • Promotion of multilingualism and linguistic diversity in literate environments, media and cyberspace
  • Promotion of languages as a means for dialog and international integration
  • Improvement of UNESCO effectiveness through integration of linguistic factors

The spring of every year, one week is dedicated to world language studies, interests, and teaching. National Foreign Language Week was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957 by Alpha Mu Gamma Society.
